Dish Network - The Biggest Group of Cell Phone Spammers
I did not want to have to write this post because I thought Dish Network would gain some common sense if I gave them some time. They have not, and I am more annoyed at these spammers then any email lottery notification spammer. I will NEVER use Dish Network again, and I hope some reading this post will join me.
Part of what I do for a living is help people with Reputation Management problems, but in cases like this, the company deserves to get the “bad press” word out.
Almost a year ago I switched from Dish Network to Direct TV for various reasons. My contract and time was up with Dish and I wanted to try something else so I did. A short while after my wife got a call from the customer service reps at Dish Network, and she answered a few questions asking why we left and explained everything perfectly (so I had assumed). I have no problem with them calling me that first time and asking whats up. I look at it as an exit interview and them trying to find out ways to lose less people. It would have been all find and dandy if it ended there. But it did not. We got another call and again, my wife answered all the questions (about why we left them) being the nice person she is. Maybe after the second call they would never call us again. How wrong we were.
Almost a year after switching from Dish Network to Direct TV we are still getting phone calls. So many phone calls that my wife has programed her cell phone to flash “Dish Network Do Not Answer” when they call. We answered probably the first 10 times trying to get them to take us off. Each time they said they would, but I am sure that is a standard crap message they are told to say. I know its not the customer services problem and they have never harassed us (I know we must be in a dialer or something) but come on!
Because of all this I will never go back to Dish Network again. I maybe would have considered it at a later time, but because of the constant calls and them not listening to us (or having a system in place to take people off the calling list when requested) I will never use them again, and they have put the most bitter taste in my mouth.
They call us at times like 7 am, and the calls continue all day. Sometimes up to 10 calls a day. We are about to get my wife a new cell phone number, but it will not be in vain. I want to get the word out through blogging and see what kind of a response I can get.
