Page Rank gone wild?
Post Big Daddy update from Google is leaving us with some interesting finds in regards to Page Rank. If you don’t know, Google did a Page Rank Update, and many people are experiencing some wierd things with thier sites Page Rank. All over SEO forums and blogs, moderators and bloggers alike are confused. Here is whats happening:
Typically, most websites expericene a higher Page Rank on thier homepage then any other page on thier site. With the launch of this new page rank update its not the cause for many people. This is where the confusion is coming in. Why is this happeneing? Is Google penalizing certain sites? Could it have something to do with all the talk about the Live PR that was shut down? I have not seen any major changes on my websites personally, other then one that was pre-big daddy that was a PR0 (wasnt really doing anything at all, or trying) is now a PR3 including all the subpages. Check this site out as an example:Â
The homepage has more BL’s (back links) the the other page yet lower PR. Very interesting. Most SEO’s are still trying to figure this one out, but we need to keep an eye on it for sure.Â
Another trend that I am seeing is that certain websites that are POST Big Daddy (brand new sites) are experiencing high PR and the PRE Big Daddy sites are the ones that seem to be suffering for some reason. This one has me puzzled for sure. I will keep an eye on this and keep posting about it as I find information out.
