Rate Point - Why You Should be Using this Social Site
Rate Point - This is probably one of the coolest ideas for a social bookmarking/rating site that I have come across in a while. It is kind of a digg/del.icio.us rating type social site. Rate Point will allow you to bookmark and tag your favorite websites and rate them, and include comments to get feedback from other Rate Point users. The reason I am digging Rate Point even over del.icio.us is the fact that other people can rate your site and give you feedback how to improve. That is a huge benefit to this social site.
Some pretty cool features of Rate Point include:
- Importing (sync) of all del.icio.us tags (you can have them automatically rated at 5)
- Any browser you use they have easy bookmarking buttons (easiest if you are using Firefox)
- Its nice to have a multiple rating level (1-5) rather then just digg this or not.
- Screen shots of all sites saved. (makes it nice for quick browsing to find saved sites easily)
- Feedback (comments area) from a wide variety of users could help improve your site.
- Anytime you tag something to del.icio.us it automatically updates Rate Point
I really like the Social Media websites that can set themself apart from all the other Social Media sites, for example (since we are talking about it already) I found an amazing fishing Social Community via DIGG the other day.  Yea, thats right…I said FISHING! You can find all sorts of information on “Bass Fishing Tournaments” & “Bass Fishing” & just general “Fishing Tournaments“? I guess all those people that would rather be fishing, are doing so, and bragging about it online. This is an amazing time in technology that we live in where we can connect with other people who like what we like, and we can rate them for it! I love it!
Hat tip to Rate Point for creating this amazing social bookmarking site that I will be using from now on. If anyone else has used this and has things to say about it I would love to hear. For now I am amazed and will keep you updated as to my feelings of Rate Point.
